Abstract
This article examines the land ownership situation of Vinh Tri commune (Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa Province) through an investigation of the land records belonging to the 13th year of the Minh Menh reign (1832). Based on analytical data on the nature of public and private lands, it initially raises comments related to scales of private and public lands, quality, the process of land privatization, and expansion of land disputes among some villages in Hoang Hoa district in the first half of the 19th century.
