Abstract

The Central Highlands region of Vietnam was populated with ethnic and religious diversity while having a strategic location adjacent to Laos and Cambodia. The French colonialists considered this region important to the control of Vietnam. Especially when they returned to invade Vietnam in September 1945, the French tried even harder to consolidate their authority in the Central Highlands and carried out a plot to separate this area from Vietnam with clever tricks. However, under the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh Government and the Vietnam Labor Party, the wicked plot of the French colonialists was gradually defeated. This victory was part of the final triumph that ended 9-year resistance against the French invasion (1946-1954).
