Abstract

After the Geneva Agreement on Indochina was signed on July 20, 1954, southern Vietnam was in chaos. The establishment of Saigon's progressive and patriotic press contributed to the rise of journalism. On that basis, it promotes the spirit of creativity and constant innovation that develops high-quality media for the fight against the enemy. Over two decades with thousands of notable press events, hundreds of newspapers and media agencies, and a large force of journalists, patriotic press in Saigon made a special contribution to the process of national liberation. This period also provides many valuable lessons regarding journalism development and management which can be useful for today’s journalism in Vietnam.
