Abstract
Since the 6th Party National Congress (12/1986), Vietnam has successfully conducted a comprehensive reform and improved Vietnam-US relations. The Vietnamese government allows some US NGOs to enter Vietnam for humanitarian and cultural exchange activities. In this paper, I concentrate on analyzing the cultural and educational operations of US NGOs in Vietnam during the last 35 years (1986 - 2021). Based on this study, I suggest that the cultural and educational works of the US NGOs in Vietnam play pioneering roles and lay the foundation for other fields of NGOs operations in Vietnam. They also contribute to enhancing Vietnam-US people-to-people diplomacy and the cooperation between the two counties.
