Educational activities of Chinese-Vietnamese in southern Vietnam under the Republic of Vietnam (1955-1975): a view from archival documents

Abstract

After addressing the nationality and economy of the Chinese ethnics in Southern Vietnam, the state of the Republic of Vietnam had to deal with their various forms of social organization. This article focuses on examining the nature of Chinese-Vietnamese schools in Southern Vietnam and how the Republic of Vietnam’s government managed them. In the end, this paper provides an overview of the educational activities of the Chinese community under the influence of such administrative measures.
